The Core Program

The Core Program exists to assist families as they seek to provide a meaningful education for their high school students, marked by the development of intellectual curiosity, academic integrity, and personal excellence.

Formerly known as the Bluegrass United Academic Center, the Core Program has a friendly relationship with Bluegrass United (BU), another homeschool program for high school students in the area.

Hybrid High School Homeschool Program in Lexington, Kentucky

The Core Program is a Christian, college prep academic program for high school homeschool students located in Lexington, Kentucky, serving students in Central Kentucky.

The program offers high school courses in a two-day a week, classroom-based setting with qualified instructors with the desire to encourage lifelong learning.

Core is not a co-op or a school, but a hybrid program allowing students the freedom of homeschooling with the benefits of a classroom.

College Prep for Homeschool in Central Kentucky

In the Core Program, courses are created and sequenced to guide students to mastery in each subject as they progress through their high school years. This approach requires students to achieve full understanding in each class before progressing, mirroring the expectations of college coursework.

Instructors set clear objectives and expectations, and students are held accountable for their performance, fostering a sense of responsibility and academic integrity.

While maintaining the independence of homeschooling, Core provides a community of learners and educators, offering students the opportunity to engage in discussions, collaborative projects, and peer interactions. This environment helps students develop communication and interpersonal skills vital for college life.
